Burton Latimer Medical CentreBurton Latimer Medical Centre

Until the 1890s official health care was not available in burton latimer medical centre. Patients who required medical attention were either treated by a visiting doctor, or if an accident occurred, were taken to Kettering for help. In the 1860s Dr Warner of Osborne House at the Cross owned and operated a surgery, and later shared his practice with partners from Finedon and Finedon.

Patient Reviews of Burton Latimer Medical Centre

By the early 1930s it was not unusual to find a queue of patients waiting outside the surgery in all weathers. Eventually it was possible for enough new houses to be built in the town, and so the practice moved to a new Health Centre on the south side of High Street near Churchill Way.

The new centre was designed to meet the needs of a growing population. It now contains doctors (general practitioners) and a pharmacy. It is also set up to send prescriptions electronically to patients’ chosen chemists. Patients should make sure their repeat medication is reviewed at least once a year, as this may need to be amended or stopped altogether. This will be highlighted on your repeat slip.

There is a wide range of independent businesses dotted around the town including a fantastic independent hair salon, ACOSMETICS, which is run by passionate and hard-working business owner Annabelle. She and her team offer an excellent range of aesthetic treatments and products to suit all skin types and ages. The town has a cricket club, based at Hall Field on the Kettering Road, and is home to non-league football team Burton Park Wanderers.
